My thoughts of custom formats/banlists

Honestly I’m not surprised since it doesn’t work with shield energy or coating energy either

Also 2 new deck ideas I have: Tool box a deck using slowking and alolan raticate alolan raticate’s attack enhanced fang does 10 damage + 50 more if it has a tool card attached for no energy and slowking’s poke-power item search can allow you to search for a tool card which you can then attach to alolan raticate

And the second deck is metal mewtwo inspired by the base-Neo deck of the same name if you know how that deck operates it’s basically the same here just with alolan Muk to go along with regular Muk but if you don’t know how the deck works it’s pretty simple attach special metal energy to mewtwo either from hand or with energy absorption and the deck wants to deplete your opponents deck to 0 with cards like cursed shovel and team rockets handiwork plus heals cards like Pokemon central lady & max potion for healing off damage for if mewtwo gets to low health

I’m not sure that the Mewtwo would have high enough damage output to be a strong attacker in this format in the mid or late-game. When it comes to mill, I did make a mill deck that I think would be pretty deadly. It’s called Small Mill that mostly relies on Weezing to attack and Dunsparce + Cursed Shovel to guarantee discards. Pokemon that can hit and run (Alolan Sandslash + Hitmontop) could allow you to switch back into Dunsparce and Mime. Parasect is there to stop the opponent from recovering anything from the Discard Pile!

I also have made a tool deck, but this tool deck relies on discarding the tools for bigger damage. So, I call it Trashville. It use Alolan Vulpix to set up for no Energy, which can grab Delibird, Unown (for extra draw), and Slowpoke. Doing this the first few turns lets you get out Slowking. Using Slowking and Delibird, you can get even more tools. Collapsed Stadium can be used to get rid of your Pokemkn tools, but Unown’s ability will also put them into the Discard Pile. Evolve the Alolan Vulpix into Alolan Nintails to start attacking for free, but eventually power up a Slowking to attack with. Whenever the game gets really late, evolve into Slowbro to pick up the last 2 prize cards!

By the way, if you want to check out the decks I’ve made, you can click the Decks button on the side to see them all. You can click the name to view them, and you can even make your own deck on the site! I love your enthusiasm for making decks in this format. There are a lot of decks I know could be made, but I have had the time to design them, yet. So, please do share more decks you make!

Mewtwo isn’t meant for attacking it just sits there with metal energy lol

Special metal energy to be exact

Energy Absorption would definitely grab the special Meta Energy, but even with 4 special Metal Energy cards attached, Mewtwo could still be knocked out in one shot by many bigger Pokemon, like Nidoking, Charizard, Blastoise, etc. I think a better target for this kind of deck would be Steelix, which could use the Energy cards to attack, as well as have access to Metal Frying Pan to make it take even less damage. (It can withstand up to 70!) That is the basis for the Perfect Magnetism deck I made!

Yeah tbh now thinking about it in a format with harder hitting threats like ursaring prime makes sense mewtwo becomes stale in the mid to late game

Btw I made a new deck called bombs which is alolan golem+electrode

I am unable to see decks that you make on your own computer. (My example decks are global for everyone to access.) Please feel free to dhare a screenshot or to give more info so I can see. :grinning:

Here’s the list! https://files.catbox.moe/8jj6cg.png (just copy and paste the link into the search bar and the list should come up)

Whoa! Love the idea of this deck! But, what are the Energy Search used for? Thinning the deck? I’d figure you would be better off just replacing them with Energy cards considering Item Lock is possible in this format. Additionally, I would suggest increasing the amount of Boss’s Orders and adding a single low-damage attacker to avoid getting walled by Mr. Mime. Dunsparce can do 20 damage for 1 Energy. Qwilfish can hit 20 for 2 and also Poison. Stantler can do 20 for 2 and confuse, also, turning off its Pokemon Power. Lugia can do 20 for 1 Energy and remove an Energy from Mr. Mime. It wouldn’t have a lot of HP, but Alolan Ratata can do 20 for 0 Energy and has free retreat and cannot be hurt by Mr. Mime in return. There are several options, but they all have their own downsides and upsides. :grinning:

And here’s the tool box deck https://files.catbox.moe/tkqxsh.png (btw I replaced a vitality band with a memory capsule for mime)

These deck recipes are super cool! I like to run more Super rods to be on the safe side, instead of too many evolution lines, but they definitely push the limkts of the game!

Also, what website are you using to make these images? I wanna update my website to connect to some card database to grab images from as well as possible grabbing other card data from. :grinning:

I use catbox & Imgbb

I also used limitless tcg for the image

Catbox & imgbb are used for sharing the images btw

@Dodrio-pult , I updated the website a bit, which included going through half of the cards and making a few swaps for better balancing. In this process, I am also adding in metadata for each card and updating as many images as I can. My plan is to finish this very thorough final pass and kinda lock in the cards in the format for a while so I can experiment with making more decks.

I already have several ideas, like a Seaking deck with Venture Bomb. As a treat, I went ahead and made a Nidoking deck! (It’s on the website, now.)
