Introducing Custom Formats on TCG ONE!

Introducing Custom Formats on TCG ONE!

  • Custom Formats (Beta): TCG ONE now lets you build your own Pokémon TCG format variants! Pick a base format, customize the card pool, deck-building rules, validation filters, and game settings, then publish it for others to browse, deckbuild for, and play. Try it at Custom Formats - TCG ONE. Some options are subscriber-only, and the feature is still a beta mode, so feedback on the forum is very welcome.
  • Environment Effects (Beta): Custom Formats also feature a new Environment Effects which modify some core game rules for extracting a never-seen-before special fun from Pokemon TCG with fully automated game mechanics. (Note that not all Environment Effects are fully tested yet).
  • Custom Format Toolkit: Added the full custom format flow: discovery/detail pages, create/edit wizard, draft creation for owners, clone/publish/archive actions, top decks, pool preview/testing tools, custom-format-aware deck editing, unified format selection in game creation, and support for custom game settings and environment effects.
  • Custom Format Following & Sponsoring: You can now follow custom formats for notifications, and sponsoring is available with Patreon-based slot limits. Sponsored formats are announced and displayed on the home page.
  • TCG1 Midsummer Rewards Festival: To thank our players and to compensate for the Quest Rewards issue, everyone who completed a quest between April 1 and July 31, 2026 receives 3 promo cards and 3 booster packs for free. Rewards are granted automatically on visiting career page. Complete any Career quest during the eligibility period to qualify.
  • May 2026 Ranked Compensation: Added compensation for the faulty Career ranked ladder rewards in May, granting 200 extra coins for each ladder participant (stacks for each ladder).
  • Play, Profile, and Career Polish: Added Play Now buttons on format and deck pages, a new /profile page, a full-page History tab in Career, cleaner transaction history, and a refreshed home page layout.

Bug Fixes:

  • Ranked season rewards were fixed.
  • Set completion achievements now count BASIC (free) cards correctly.
  • The card fan no longer crowds the navbar on desktop or overlaps buttons on mobile.
  • Card search URLs now canonicalize cleanly without creating duplicate history entries.
  • Scan links now redirect to tcg.one with better caching.
  • Deck paginations were streamlined; both My Decks and Deck Garage now use the same pagination component on both top and bottom of the page.

  • Metadata and boilerplate for 2022-2026 sets

:person_kneeling: You are incredible!! Working on implementing the Legacy Select Format right meow!! :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

However, having one small problem…

If I try to include a card and then I search for it, such as this example where I search for “Bulbasaur,” I’m limited to like 6 or 7 cards that match that name, even if I try scrolling through them. (Also, the search results box is really narrow, cutting off some important info like set.) Is there a way to narrow these down with further format info?

Hey crait, long time no talk, I knew you’d come to build your Legacy format. Thanks for pointing out the rough edges, they need some love  I just pushed an update to fix the search limit issue, will be live in ~5 mins.

Thanks for the hotpatch!

If I can get the 20 or so example decks I made online and the custom format tested, I’m willing to host a tournament in some way with a small prize.
