Just like my previous post, most ex era (2003-2007) cards prompt unnecessary confirmations, since the game log exists. I’d love if that feature was removed for ex era cards
Those that play on TCG ONE often know all too the experience of an inattentive opponent holding your turn up because you’re waiting for them to click an acknowledgment box.
I don’t hate that a pop-up box appears to allow you to easily view things. For example, if my opponent uses Holon Mentor, I like being able to see the 3 cards they selected. However, the issue arises in that the game cannot progress until a player’s opponent confirms the selection. And in the age of short attention spans, you end up waiting 30 seconds or longer while your opponent switches between Facebook and Youtube tabs.
Now that the game log allows you to view images of cards, I think this forced confirmation to progress the game can be removed. The cards can be shown, but this box should close by itself after a few seconds to avoid slowing the game down. You can also allow the active player to continue their turn even when the box is displayed to the opponent, then just fast forward the action when they’re done viewing.
An additional way to mitigate this issue is adding sound effects. You can add a simple, short sound to indicate when your turn begins. This would prevent someone’s attention from wandering and forgetting they’re in a game. (This unfortunately does happen a lot.) Of course, a checkbox to disable sounds would be a must.
