The script shows that Protective Shell triggered after the Energy was discarded, not before. Is this correct? Either way, it should explain the bug in this case. (So far the Compendium isn’t answering all my questions, so I may need help broadening my range of references and sources.)
Someone in a comment for a similar bug described checking the compendium and questioning multiple judges and determining that this is indeed a bug.
Bug is still valid right now.
I checked for similar Shuckle-GX bugs, and found similar bug reports for Ultra Necrozma-GX FLI, Charizard TEU, and Naganadel-GX UNM. Without actually verifying the bug reports (cringe), I said that the bug report was still valid for all of them. Turns out, the other three all hit Shuckle-GX. To make matters worse, when another user stepped in on the Charizard TEU bug report and said that the card was working as intended, I cited this user under the other bug reports, still without verifying the other bug reports (cringe). This only added more layers to the confusion. As it turns out, Photon Laser, Continuous Fireball, and Venom Shot all hit Shuckle-GX when three or more Energy were attached before using the attack, and only the original Nature’s Judgement bug still exists. I offer my apologies for wasting other user’s time by not individually verifying the bug reports. Please forgive me.
